Supreme Court Decision

Just a week ago the Supreme Court ruled that only using race as a means of assigning students to a school is unconstitutional. To quote Chief Justice Roberts, "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race."

The point being, one does not correct a wrong by enacting another wrong. Yet this world often acts as if two wrongs make a right. We call this situation ethics.

Such denies there are things inherently wrong in and of themselves. Stealing, lying, sexual immorality, murder, idolatry, covetousness, and other sins are always wrong. No matter the situation! "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Cor 6:9).

The heart of the problem is the heart of man. "Do you not yet understand? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies" (Matt 15:17- 19). Prejudice is wrong and the way to correct that wrong is by changing the heart of man. The Bible calls this repentance. It demands a change in attitude and action. D.T.
