Time For A Change

I was looking at the calendar and noticed that next week our clock changes.  Technically the time changes at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, November 6th, but most of us do not get up at 2 a.m. and change our clocks.  We either change them before we go to bed Saturday night or after we get up Sunday morning.  In either case it is important to adjust to the change.  I know of one preacher who forgot to adjust his clocks.  He thought he was ready with time to spare until one of the elders knocked on his door and wanted to know if everything was alright.

Not only do we need to change our clocks, we also need to change them in the right direction.  In the fall we "fall back" and run our clocks back one hour.  As the old saying goes, we get an extra hour of sleep.  Actually, I don't think it really works that way but the change is noticeable.  Right now the sun comes up around 7 a.m. and next week it will be starting to shine around 6 a.m.  The first few seem kind of strange as our biological clock must adjust also.  I usually have lunch around noon and for a few weeks I am ready to eat at 11 a.m.  One thing I do not like is it getting dark so early.  By 5:30 p.m. it will be dark and before long it will be 4:30 a.m.   But it really does not matter what I like or dislike, the time changes anyway.

Here's my point.  The Law of Moses was done away with and we are now under the Law of Christ.  Mankind must acknowledge and adjust to the change in law.  For some, the change may be hard and for others it may be easy but it really does not matter.  We will be judged by Christ's law, John 12.48.  -- Dennis Tucker
