Youth

Looking through some quotes about "youth", I came across the following:

If our boys and girls are not so good as they were

when you were a child their age, it may be that they

had a much better mother and dad than your child has.

-Anonymous

Wow, sometimes the truth hurts! While it is certainly not so in every case, I firmly believe that too often the above statement is right on. We have generations growing up with no raising. Parents have become so overwhelmed with work, play, and self, that they throw the kids off to another or to be "self-raised". It’s alright for flour to be "self-rising" but not so with children.

What is the problem moms and dads? The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Pro. 22:6). Paul wrote, "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord" (Eph. 6:4). For our boys and girls to be good, we must get back to training and bringing them up as God directs. God help us do that and encourage others to do the same.— David McPherson
